Agave and cactus in a gravel xeriscape bed, New Braunfels

Design-build · 3-year warranty

Landscaping company in New Braunfels and San Antonio

Landscaping is the living part of the yard: trees, shrubs, perennials, grasses, lawn and the soil they grow in. Ours is installed by the same crews who build our patios and walls, to a plan, with amended soil and drip irrigation, and it comes with a written 3-year plant warranty. Most companies offer one year.

What's included

What you get with landscaping

We can give you a long warranty because we stack the odds before we plant. Hill Country soil is often 4 to 8 inches of clay loam over caliche or solid limestone. We test it, break it up, add compost where it helps, pick plants that belong in it and water them with drip on a schedule we leave in writing.

  • Soil check on the site walk and amended beds on every install
  • Plants at least 70% Texas native or adapted, sourced from Central Texas growers
  • Drip irrigation for beds, set to a written establishment schedule
  • Steel or limestone bed edging and 3 inches of hardwood or native mulch
  • Tree planting to arborist standards, with root flare at grade
  • A 3-year plant warranty, in writing, on everything we plant

What it costs

What landscaping costs

Landscaping prices depend on plant size, how much soil work the site needs and how much irrigation has to change. Here are the ranges most of our installs fall in. Your proposal will list each plant by size and count, so you can see exactly where the money goes.

Most planting-only projects run $8,000 to $40,000. Planting is also part of almost every design-build project we do, alongside patios, walls and lighting.

Why our plants live

Most plant failures we see in San Antonio and New Braunfels come from three things: the wrong plant for the spot, planting too deep, and watering on a sprinkler schedule built for grass. We fix all three. Plants go where they'll thrive, trees go in with the root flare visible, and beds run on drip zones that are separate from any lawn.

Then we check. Your project lead comes back after the first month to adjust the controller as plants settle in, and our warranty team is a phone call away for three years.

How it works

How a landscaping project runs

  1. Step 1: Site walk and soil check

We walk the yard, dig a few test holes, check sun and drainage, and tag the plants and trees worth keeping.

  2. Step 2: Planting plan and price

You get a plan with every plant by species, size and count, the drip layout and an itemized fixed price.

  3. Step 3: Prep, drip and plant

We remove old turf or beds, amend the soil, lay drip, set edging, plant, mulch and water everything in.

  4. Step 4: Walkthrough and warranty

Your project lead sets the controller, hands you the watering schedule and starts the 3-year warranty clock.

Questions

Landscaping questions

Do you do weekly mowing or maintenance?

Not at launch. We install and warranty. We'll recommend local maintenance crews who know native plants, and we're planning a Landscape Care service for clients whose yards we built.

Where do your plants come from?

From Central and South Texas wholesale growers whenever we can, so plants are already used to our heat and soil. We hand-select trees at the nursery and reject root-bound or girdled stock.

How long until a new bed looks full?

With one-gallon perennials, most beds fill in by the end of the second growing season. With five-gallon plants, often by the end of the first. We'll show you both options and their prices.

What voids the 3-year plant warranty?

Turning off or reprogramming the irrigation away from our schedule, deer browse, freezes below the plant's rated hardiness, and damage from pets, vehicles or other contractors. Everything else that dies, we replace.
